The numerous international spots around the city are like little portholes allowing you to dive into different nations and access specialist products from the source whilst at the same time support independent enterprises.
Frequenting these spots help enrich my city experience, transporting me back to places I have visited and reconnect with those energies. These little weekly adventures around Lodz have enabled me to meet a range of people from around the globe who in turn have shared their stories with me - their reasons and motivations for being here in Lodz, helping make it a multi-cultural city. 

Francis is originally from Cameroon and came to Lodz 16 years ago to study transport & logistics. For a ‘Taste of Africa’ you can visit his store at Pomorska 88.

Lawendios is from Jordan and has been studying business management here in Lodz for the past year and a half. He also works in ‘Jerozolima’ on Piotrkowska 16 and is learning the art of business from the cafes’ founder, Tareq.

Safouan comes from Gerba in Tunisia and has been in Lodz for 17 years. He originally came for marketing studies but since opened his cafe and shop ‘Dubai’ located on Kosciuszki 35. By night he DJ’s at various clubs around the city.

Nadia is from the Ukraine and came to Lodz three years ago to be with her partner. She works in the Ukrainian store located on Piotrkowska 190.

Bryan comes from Hubei in China. He studied architecture in Warsaw for five years and moved to Lodz two years ago in the name of love. He now runs his Asian store ‘Casslodz’ at Wieckowskiego 5.

Desi is from Bali, Indonesia and is a masseuse at Om Thai Spa located at 56 Sienkiewicza. She came to Poland six and a half years ago because she wanted a change in her life, and to experience a country with four different seasons. She chose Lodz because it’s a calm, quiet city with friendly people. 

Tareq is from Palestine and has been 23 years in Poland, eight of which were in Lodz. He came to Poland to study computer engineering and then established his business and cafe ‘Palestine’ located on Piotrkowska 16. If you’re looking for fresh hummus or Falafel, well then look no further!

Sukhminder is from Punjab in India and has been in Lodz for 15 years. He originally came for a job and then set up his Indian store, located next to Central, suppling Lodz with products from all over India.

Swietlana is from Lviv in Ukraine and moved to Lodz with her family five years ago. After the war in Donetsk 2014 decided to emigrate under the worry of future attack from Russia. They chose Łódź partly because it was more feasible for rent. Their family restaurant ‘Lwowskie Klimaty’ is located on Kopernika 30.
